About Us
The Team
CaptainJackson(Jayson) Aerts andhis crew welcome you on board.
The Manager Sophie, the good soul on land, organises the background things so that all goes well.
Our business is officially and legally registered and we hold skipper licences.
The Boat
Babacool anchors in Pereybere next to the Public Beach and is the only commercial trimaran in the north of Mauritius. The boat has a length of 10.4 m/35 ft , a sailing mast hight of 12.4 m/42ft , and a powerful 55 HP engine, making a max of 12 knots.
Trimarans have a number of advantages over comparable Catamarans, the shallower draft and less wetted area, allows it to sail in shallower water and to maintain its stability in stronger winds.
Babacool has life jackets on board.
For the comfort of the passengers Babacool offers both shady and sunny places on board, a cabin to keep our guests belongings safe and dry, and including toilet facilities.
Snorkeling equipment is available on demand.
There is also an on board BBQ grill and a music system (CD, USB) for your entertainment.
Babacool has a maximum capacity of 18 passengers (+ crew).
The northern Islands of Mauritius
Gunner's Point
or Coin de Mire
is an uninhabited island 8 km off the north coast of Mauritius. It has a size of 1.1 x 1.3 km. It's cliff is 165 m high and the home for many seagulls and the white-tailed tropical bird. The waters around are popular for snorkeling and diving. Just 3 km after passing Coin de Mire, we arrive at
Flat Island
and Gabriel Island.
Flat Island is 2.5 km squared, and is the largest of the two islands. It is characterised by a light house on it's highest point. Between both islands is a shallow lagoon 300m wide filled with beautiful corals. This is the habitat for countless fish and sea turtles, a snorkelers paradise.
